High School

                            Almost every high school graduate would come out having experienced every emotion within the 4 years of school. Whether you were the popular kid, the goth, the class clown or the band geek, you went through them all. I too went through the motions of school. I went through more highs than lows. My most memorable moment in high school was when me and my two x-best friends convinced our Principal into starting a dance team to perform at sporting events. He approved it and we became the choreographers for the dance team. It gave me more than just plays to be my extra curricular activity after school. It also expanded my social group beyond the seniors. I was proud of my friends and i. Not only did it prove that we could be leaders but as a majority African American group we knew how to act and properly represent our school respectfully. The girls on the team thanked us because without the team they wouldn't have been able to show the school body what they had to offer. Most of them danced outside of school but because we didn't have a dance team before, they never participated in after school activities. This opportunity helped build up references for college applications as well.
