If I could change one
thing about the world today it would definitely be war. I feel that war is the
most unnecessary thing on the planet. Thousands of men and women lose their
lives over stupid things like oil. There is no doubt in my mind that problems
between countries can be resolved a lot easier than going to war. I feel that
some countries actually plan wars because it is so profitable, so basically
people lose their lives just so their government can make a quick dollar. If I were
ever drafted to participate in a war, I honestly think I would rather sit in
jail. Not because I’m a traitor to my country, but because nine times out of
ten I’m not going to believe in what I’m fighting for, and I would rather lose
my life (or take other people’s lives) over something I believe in. A lot of
people like cheering for their country and encouraging war because the media
usually makes people think that war is a good thing. I personally think my art
can be used to stop war. Music is one of the most powerful resources on the
planet. Music can bring people together and make them forget about their
differences. If two people hate each other, but both like a song nothing else
will matter because it will only be about the music. Enemies may be at a
concert with each other but when their favorite song comes on they won’t be
thinking about each other because all they will want to do is dance. Music can
cure just about anything.
