                                                 First impressions of the book

In the novel “Take the Cannoli” by Sarah Vowell, she talks about her childhood, her family and her outlook on life. She first off talking about how much art means to her and how she gets so into her work. The first impressions I got from that, was she didn’t care what other think and that she known  what she wanted out of life and what meant the most to her. And I like that about her because I’m the same way. I didn’t let people comments change things I like to do. In a way her life story is the same like mine.

Her father and she didn’t really talk a lot because they didn’t like the same thing. Live in the same house nut stay on two different worlds. I can understand how that made her feel; because my father and I never seen eye to eye. But as a keep in reading I started to see that her and her father was the same in the way. It wasn’t available on the surface of the text but as I start to read between the line. I notice that they are the same in a weird way. They both have things they are in love with doing. His is making guns and the wild life. Sarah is making art and music and finding her way in life. They both making things they love. That made me rethink things about my father and somehow we may have something we can talk about just need to look between the open spaces.

Sarah life is full with different outlook in life. I can relate to that, my family have a different outlook in god and what I could or couldn’t have faith in. Sarah fights back and forward with the same program. If I imagine this character in real life and   show in at my dinner, I will ask her how she find who she is as a person.

I chose this book because it was about a girl finding herself as a person and I’m that the point in my life that I’m doing the same. It was a normally kind of book I will read.
