I am very obsessed with
the major that I am taking at Columbia College Chicago (Audio Arts and
Acoustics). Ever since I could remember, I always wanted to make music
professionally. I don’t exactly have to be this huge star that everyone
admires, I would be satisfied with being just a producer or even song writer. I
think taking classes at Columbia will get me where I need to be. I will learn
new things that I never knew, such as production techniques and more background
knowledge on music itself. I want a career in music because I feel like it
would be amazing to get paid doing something that you love, instead of a
typical job that you hate. The steps I will take to reach this goal of mine are
simple, but will take time. I basically just want to improve my overall
understanding of music in general. The knowledge I am seeking is not just based
on one genre, I would like to learn about all origins of music. The better my
understanding of music, the better the music I make will be. I don’t expect it
to be a walk in the park though. I will have to do a lot of studying and make
sacrifices for what I want. Another thing that might make reaching my goal
complicated is my competition. I’m not really sure what other artists have in
store, or what they are capable of. The only thing I can really do is just
focus on myself and my music because I know for a fact that if I stay
dedicated, I will accomplish my goals sooner than later.
