Zullay Orozco
At the beginning of the first bridge meeting, I thought I
was just going to a regular old boring summer program where you just sit in a
classroom, pay attention, and try and get through the whole four weeks. When
they gave us a schedule of the program, I began to look through it and I
noticed that we had a great amount of class time, break time, and we even had
field trips! I was pretty excited! The first day of bridge was pretty chill. I
got my classroom and had time to get a mini breakfast before class. Throughout
the day my expectations changed when we had lectures and even a discussion
class. I had no idea we had a discussion class, but it was my favorite part. We
got to learn about each other and about Colleen. I like her! She seems very
helpful. I'm pretty confident about the Bridge program. I feel like English is
my strongest subject, although I’d like to get the hang of writing big papers,
which can be a drag. Also I’d like to get into the hang of writing my papers in
a timely manner. I am a huge procrastinator and I would hate to be this way in
college. I know if I get into the hang of it now, I’ll be so ready in the fall;
which is my plan. I am using this program as a sort of practice and also
learning experience to get into the hang of Columbia's curriculum as well.
