Response #3 TREVON K

My first impression of my characters is the fact that they were so young, and they traveled so far on foot running for their lives and now they have made it to America and they are adjusting to it just fine. These three main characters are great not only because of what they did but from the first few pages I have read their personalities are absolutely great. They are very simple people too. They are easily satisfied and they don’t ask for much.  My favorite character is the oldest brother   Benson. In my mind Benson has a strong heart and mind. For him to play the parent role in his younger brother’s life at such a young age is stunning. Another reason he is my favorite character is because I can relate to playing the parent role in a younger siblings life and boy is it a job. I have three younger siblings, my little brother Caleb, and my two little sisters Kayla and Daesha. We haven’t had to many successful people to try and be a father figure in our lives so I stepped up to the plate and started taking charge of situations and letting them know what’s right and what’s wrong. Although what I was doing was hard and still is hard I don’t think I had it nearly as bad as Benson did in this story. With all the running and all the finding food, I know at certain points in his life he wanted to call it quits and just give up on life, but with his determination and his will he stayed strong and did what he had to do
