My name
is Taylor Irby, I am from Detroit, Michigan. The reason why I chose to attend Columbia
College Chicago is because I heard that it was one of the best colleges amongst
other colleges that had a major in graphic design. I have always had an interest
in designing different things. I think when I first realized that I wanted to
pursue a career in graphic design was in high school, when many of my
assignments were to take pictures of random things in Detroit. Throughout high
school I attended vocational schools were I studied more about graphic design. Some
of our assignments were to go to the Hindenburg Project and take pictures
there. One of the pictures that I took there was later displayed at the Detroit
International Academy along another picture that I took there.
My personality type: most of the time I’m quiet until I get
used to my surroundings and familiarize myself with everything. The only thing
that I can think of about myself that I don’t like is how I’m not willing to
join into a group conversation unless I’m asked too.
In my opinion
there are many different things that are important about this school. One of
them being that the class sizes are not so big were the teacher can’t help
every student and have that one-on-one time, I think the other important thing
is that this school cares about their students safety and created this “buddy
system” and also that way it’s a chance that you won’t be alone or not have
anyone to converse with in this school.
In my future I plan to become a graphic
designer and create different designs for whoever needs them, I want to if not
own my own company I want to work for people that’s well know. I would also
love to design billboards and covers of books.
