I mean,
I care about the environment. Although, I am one of those people who hears
about global warming and then obsesses over the idea that we’re all going to
melt to the point where I’m driving myself insane, never leaving my room, armed
with a bottle on sun screen. So do I
care what happens to the environment? Yes, absolutely. But, for my safety and
for the safety of those who surround me, I take it easy on that stuff.
When
you think about it, it’s pointless to drive yourself insane over something like
that. We heard about it in our last lecture about ocean ecosystems. There is a
lot we can do if we work together to reverse the deterioration of the ocean and
safe its inhabitants, but what’s the point if half the world doesn’t give a
flying saucer?
The
reality of this situation is if I do something, I do it whole heartedly. If I
don’t think I’m going to care about a task, project, or really anything
involving me having to do work then I just won’t do it. If I care about it but
I don’t have any power over it, I ignore the problem.
Recently
though, since that lecture about the ocean, I’ve been thinking about what I can
actually do to help. I have some ideas up my sleeve that could actually
incorporate my passion, tv production. It is years in the making, but keep an
eye out for me on the news saving the ocean. Those obsessive thoughts about the
end of the ocean might actually get to me.
Who
knows, maybe one day you’ll be thanking me for obsessing of stuff. Maybe I’ll
save the world because I saved the ocean.. Yeah. I can see it now. Me, the hero
of our generation!
