Mario Thompson

My name is Mario Thompson. In my honest opinion I am very different from other individuals. I don't really enjoy doing the things that most people my age like to do. For example, everyone my age is into movies, television, and sports. I'm not saying I would never involve myself in any of these activities, I just prefer to do other things. I like to think of myself as an intellectual being. This means I prefer doing things that exercise my mind. I feel that being “one” with yourself is very important. My hobbies include hanging out with friends, and making music. Through making music, I am able to express my creative side and let out whatever is on my mind. Making music relaxes me and makes me feel as if I am in a world where possibilities are endless. This is why I feel that Columbia College Chicago is the place for me. I want to be around other creative people who enjoy the same things as me. Being around other creative people has a lot of advantages. It allows you to share ideas with others, and get their views and opinions on certain things. I feel that attending Columbia College will guide me in the right direction and give me a satisfying future. I define “satisfying future” not as being rich, but as making a living doing something that I love to do. There is no doubt in my mind that Columbia College is the place for me.
