My favorite rapper: Mario Thompson

My favorite musical performer would hands down have to be Jay z. He is my favorite for multiple reasons. First of all, I grew up listening to a lot of his music because my mother and father are also huge fans of his work. Another reason I like Jay z is because of his level of creativity. I don’t really like listening to music that has the same basic lyrics in it. With most rappers you can tell that they are just using whatever word rhymes. With Jay z, everything is fresh and you can tell he put a lot of thought into it. The last reason Jay z is my favorite rapper is because he is a veteran and has survived in the music industry for very many years. If you know anything about the music industry, then you know that this is something that is very difficult to do. Jay z represents the ideal musician that people should learn from.

            Jay z’s music has a great effect on me. His music inspires me to push my creative ability to the limit. Every time I hear a song of his, it makes me think of his thought process before he created the song. I often alter my thought process depending on the subject matter of the record I am working on, because I like to think that Jay z does the same thing. I hope to one day touch or impact someone greatly with my music, just like how Jay z’s music has done for me.
