Columbia’s Bridge program is a little different than
what I was expecting for the first day. Before the first day of this bridge
program, I was expecting for us to be sitting in one classroom for six hours,
no conversation, a small lunch break and that it would be like jail basically. That’s
just what was running through my head the whole summer break. I’m so glad that it’s
actually fun and interesting. We don’t sit in one class room all day and we do
have conversations and that we have an hour’s time worth of lunch. Since the
first day has been over I’m expecting for it to get better and better as the
days go by. I’m expecting for there to be better books to read, better topics
to write on, better lectures, and basically a better everything.
However I have noticed that one of my thoughts has
not changed and is still correct today. I knew that this program would be full
of talented and artistic students. There are students majoring in so many
different things, and they all have creative mindset which is absolutely great.
I have had the pleasure of meeting new people who are majoring in the same
field as me and that is a wonderful thing to see. I’m expecting to get a lot
out of this program. First if anything I’m expecting to complete this program
and continue on my education at Columbia College Chicago. I want to leave this
program knowing the campus pretty good and having good networking, writing, and
speech skills. I want to leave the bridge program with new ideas and ways of
thinking and writing.
In order for me to do all of this and more I plan to
complete all of the work on time and correctly. I also plan to show up every day
on time and ready to learn or hear something new. I’ll try to meet new people
every day as well ask teachers questions about the school campus, classes, etc.
All of this and more is possible if I stay focused and do what I have to do.
