          Fred & Sarah

         Just by reading the very first sentence i knew Sarah was very much into knowing information on things like politics, rights, & the arts. I figured for that that she was a very intelligent, opinionated person. As i continued on reading i grew to like Sarah as a person because she was strong minded & had her own way of thinking. She is the type of person i can see running for president.

       I knew from the beginning that even though she wasn't into the guns & cold metal tools of death so still wanted to have that bond with her father. I was the same way. Although i wasn't too much into attending church anymore my mama decided she wanted to randomly start attending service faithfully. Every time i was invited & denied the invitation i was called the black sheep, the devils seed, the devils child, or the lost lamb. It didn't phase me but i still wanted that bond with my mama. Eventually i got a job and found my self having fun blown conversations with her about work. i did it. I found the covalent bond between us.

      Like Sara i to found fun beyond my self and my room. If she were to show up at my door we would probably make our own group just to have a reason to take an outing. We'd conversate about our opinions of gay pride and how they should not be judged just because they wear opposite gender clothes, change the pitch of their voice, change the color of their hair, or proudly walk around wearing the colors of the rainbow. Reading the character of Ms.Vowell I'm positive their would never be a dull conversation or debate that we'd both be engaged in.

      The honest reason why i chose this book because it seemed to be the shortest out of the choices. It isn't typically the the choice of book id pick up simple because I'm not too much into politics, guns, or war history. Usually id pick up a Jerome Dickey's book because in everyone of his illustrations i can related to the life style & real life struggles the characters go through. I was also attracted to this book because after getting the summary of it i was that an opinionated girl going through life would be my best bet to relate myself to. She cares about her loved ones but her mindset & opinionated personality is what makes her her. Id like to think this is exactly what me & Sarah Vowell share as teen aged girls.
