Question 1: Colleen

This is your first Bridge blog assignment. Usually, you all will be responsible for coming up with the blog questions. However, since we are all new to this experience, I will provide today's question.

Your first blog assignment is to attempt to let us know, as much as possible, WHO YOU ARE. Try to go beyond telling us all of the short answer information (you know, the stuff we could see on Facebook): age, favorite movie, and what you like to eat. Stay away from giving us a list of biographical information. Each day you'll be writing fully developed thoughts on this blog. Attempt to start that process today.

You must:

-Create your own blog post in which you write a 300 word response that attempts to shine a light on WHO YOU ARE as an individual. Tell us whatever you want to tell us. Be creative. Be original. Be thoughtful.

-In addition to describing yourself, consider your choice to come to Columbia College Chicago. Why Columbia? What about this school is important to you? To your future?

-The title of the blog should be your first name.

-Include a photograph that will deepen our understanding of what you are telling us. This may not be a photograph of yourself (though it can be), but rather a photograph that epitomizes, as much as possible, what you are trying to communicate.

Happy posting!

Well I am an easy going guy that could be funny at times, I am a nice person, I love family, I love being around family, I am a strong person, I like working out, my goal one day is to be as big as Sylvester Stallone. I love movies; I love everything about them, which is why I want to be a film director.

    Columbia College Chicago Blog 1

Hello John and Colleen, I will like to start off by telling you my name is Kiaris by I go by Kiki for a nickname because in middle school. My gym teacher for sixth grade can’t say my name right for the first year. So she came up with that nickname (Kiki). So for the rest of middle school and high school I been telling my teachers that were the name I go by. My mom hated it because when the teachers or deans called my home they will ask to talk to the mother for Kiki and she won’t know who they was talking about until one of my teachers told her that’s the name she go by in school. So that’s a little funny fact with how I came up with my nickname.
I came from a big family; I have 5 brothers and 1 sister. I’m the only girl on my father side, so in his eyes I will always be his little girl; who is about to be 20 years old next year. On the other hand, on my mother side I’m the baby of the family so I always get push around and get told what to do and how to do it the right way. But the good things about being the only girl and being the baby for the family, I get everything I want and more, I get away with a lot of things that my brothers and sister will never in their wildest dreams will get away with. So that’s the way I look at things in a better light. But with having a big family we all a lot of love and family time and by having that one on one time with my mother or father helps me grow as a person, even thought my parents are not with each other, I still have that family love that other kids around my age have.

  3. My name is Preston Hawkins. I’m 19 years old and I been interesting in music for a very long time. I love to play drums and love to produce music. That is one of the reasons why I chosen Columbia College because I feel Columbia can help me get better at my craft.
